Recently I have found myself craving some DIY and cheap alternatives to the often pricey designer items for the home. Last weekend, I went down the path of Jonas Bohlin. The Liv Lamp (by Klong) is in my personal opinion extremely overpriced.

Recently I have found myself craving some DIY and cheap alternatives to the often pricey designer items for the home. Last weekend, I went down the path of Jonas Bohlin. The Liv Lamp (by Klong) is in my personal opinion extremely overpriced.
Yes it may be soft, beautiful, classic, but to pay over €500 for lets face it net tule, a bulb and a piece of cord, you have to be crazy right? One might be forgiven for spending such money on chandeliers or very 'specific' pendants, but come on, net? So... with some help from google I came across a fantastic site where you can make this dream lamp a relaity.
I bought 10 metres of net at a width of nealry 2 metres. I then simply followed the instruction on the site and voila!
I also was slightly anal about the whole thing and not wanting to use the original white cord provided with the lamp, I bought a separate black one from ikea so it really looks more like it! House renovations still in progress so when it is up I will re post...
